Description:

The Assistant Community Coordinator (ACC) is responsible for community development and co-curricular education within a residential community of approximately 80 students. The ACC will be ultimately responsible for the supervision of one resident assistant during the academic year and four summer assistants during the summer.

Duties Include:

  • Train, supervise and evaluate a resident assistant during the academic year.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of a residential community of approximately 80 students.
  • Implement and oversee the University Housing Activity Model with student-staff and attend these programs and functions.
  • Collaborate with the other University Housing Coordinators to plan and implement the resident assistant trainings.
  • Implement and enforce policy with regard to safety and security housing wide.
  • Serve on a University Housing-wide 24 hour on-call duty rotation and assist with crisis management as appropriate.
  • Develop partnerships across academic disciplines for the implementation of living learning communities.
  • Assist in departmental marketing through regular participation in major campus recruitment events.
  • Assist with development and implementation of long and short term strategic departmental programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Resident assistant experience in university student housing or relevant higher education program.

  2. Work with culturally diverse populations, student supervision, advising, and fiscal management.

  3. Public speaking, training design and facilitation, and judicial affairs experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Proficiency in various office software packages including word processing, spreadsheets and email.

  2. Proficiency in working with Google products (email, sites, docs, calendar), and familiarity with Facebook groups.

  3. Knowledge of Maxient, Transact, StarRez, and Adirondack Solutions software including Housing Director.

  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
