Description:

Functions as a Testing Assistant in an on-call capacity, with some regular weekly hours, to fill in during high-volume test-taking periods, occasional Saturdays to proctor national exams, and when regular testing assistants request time off.

Shifts vary between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and may include some Saturdays when needed for proctoring exams.

Candidates must submit a cover letter and class schedule with application. Position will begin 08/28/2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the daily operations of the SUU Testing Center and provides front desk support by greeting and assisting students, staff, faculty and other visitors on campus.
  • Checks in test takers for exams, answers phones and performs other administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, shredding and drafting documents.
  • Administers and proctors exams in the Testing Center. Also proctors exams in Specialized Testing when needed.
  • Assists with other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be in good academic standing, 3.0 GPA preferred.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have good phone etiquette.
  • Must have good verbal skills and be able to convey accurate information to students and faculty.
  • Must be able to understand and respect the need for confidentiality.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and on-time for designated work shifts.
  • Must be responsible, mature, neat in appearance and have a congenial personality.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently while completing assigned projects.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to take the initiative on projects and tasks that need to be completed.
  • Must be able to be pleasant and function calmly in a fast-paced, busy environment with a steady flow of students checking in and out for exams.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, G-mail and Google docs is preferred.
  • Must also be patient, organized, and able to follow instructions.
  • Must be observant and attentive while on duty.
