Description:

The Disability Resource Center Grant Coordinator Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities by providing 1:1 professional development instruction and workshops. This position requires effective communication with students, experience with preparing and presenting instruction, and ability to manage appointments.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Grant Coordinator and department staff to develop and improve a pre/post internship program, as well as offer management and instruction for the program.
  • Assist Grant Coordinator in Data entry/file management, tracking, reporting and invoicing for all aspects of USOR grant.
  • Assist in communicating with SUU departments, community businesses, and also contacts across the state of Utah to find potential internship placements for students.
  • Create and implement individualized professional development content to pre-internship students through 1:1 weekly instruction and monthly group workshops.

Instruction topics include:

  • Resume writing.
  • Interviewing skills.
  • Job searching.
  • Goal setting.
  • Professional communication.
  • Self-advocacy in the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Open to Graduate Students.
  • Experience with 1:1 and group instruction
  • High level of professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively work with students and staff members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and time management skills.
