Description:
The Disability Resource Center Grant Coordinator Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities by providing 1:1 professional development instruction and workshops. This position requires effective communication with students, experience with preparing and presenting instruction, and ability to manage appointments.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Grant Coordinator and department staff to develop and improve a pre/post internship program, as well as offer management and instruction for the program.
- Assist Grant Coordinator in Data entry/file management, tracking, reporting and invoicing for all aspects of USOR grant.
- Assist in communicating with SUU departments, community businesses, and also contacts across the state of Utah to find potential internship placements for students.
- Create and implement individualized professional development content to pre-internship students through 1:1 weekly instruction and monthly group workshops.
Instruction topics include:
- Resume writing.
- Interviewing skills.
- Job searching.
- Goal setting.
- Professional communication.
- Self-advocacy in the workplace.
Qualifications:
- Open to Graduate Students.
- Experience with 1:1 and group instruction
- High level of professionalism
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively work with students and staff members.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong sense of accountability and time management skills.
