Description:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Athletics Marketing Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports marketing, with a focus on in-game sponsorship activations, promotions, and the overall marketing of our athletic department and teams. The intern will work closely with staff to enhance the fan experience at events and promote our athletic programs through various digital channels, including social media.

This internship is part of the Spring 2025 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • Provide thoughtful responses in your application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing in-game sponsorship activations and promotional events.
  • Support the development and implementation of marketing strategies for athletic teams.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content for social media platforms.
  • Help coordinate promotional giveaways and fan engagement activities during home games.
  • Collect and analyze data on event attendance and fan engagement to assess the effectiveness of promotions.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Assist with graphic design and video editing for promotional materials, when needed.
  • Attend games and events to provide on-site support and ensure smooth execution of marketing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and basic graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Passion for athletics and a desire to learn about sports marketing.
