Description:

  • The Department of Nursings Student Office Assistant works about 20 hours per week during fall/spring semesters, breaks and summer work will be available (this can be more than the 20 hours during the academic year, fall and spring).
  • The student office assistant (secretary) aids full-time faculty and staff members with their duties.
  • They will greet and serve students and other guests at the front desk, aid in document imaging, data input, answering phone calls and emails, aid with student surveys and evaluations, run errands on campus, print and file reports and documentation.
  • Assist in preparing for accreditations including accrediting site visits.
  • They may also be required to assist in other tasks applicable to the Department of Nursing to further support/help/assist staff, faculty, and nursing students.

Note: Due to access to tests and other sensitive nursing course information, nursing and pre-nursing students cannot be hired for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Must have strong computer skills (Word and Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • General clerical skills
  • Organized and dependable *Ability to prioritize for managing time to complete tasks and ensure proper work-flow of office duties and assignments
  • Must be able to work 20 hours per week during fall and spring semesters and additional hours during breaks and summers
  • Willing to learn new skills, ability to be detail-oriented.
