Ticket Office

The Ticket Office Agent supports smooth ticketing operations and delivers excellent customer service at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Responsibilities assisting patrons with ticket purchases, exchanges, inquiries, and resolving customer concerns over the phone and in person at the window. This position requires the availability to work between the hours of 10AM - 8PM. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required.

Essential Functions

  • Attending mandatory training sessions scheduled in May/June to ensure proficiency in assigned responsibilities and safety protocols.
  • Utilizing ticketing software to sell, exchange, and return tickets both in-person and over the phone.
  • Money handling skills. Collecting and returning change to guests. Balancing a cash drawer.
  • Preparing ticket orders for mail or will call.
  • Moving stanchions and signage, stocking publications, and performing other light custodial duties.
  • Serving as a point of assistance and information for guests on-site.
  • Assisting with season setup, cleanup, and attending monthly scheduling meetings.
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Demonstrating availability to work shifts lasting 4–6 hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, within operational hours of 9:45 AM–8:15 PM.
  • Possessing previous experience in live theater, event management, or a similar environment (preferred).
  • Prioritizing tasks, and remaining calm under pressure.
  • Exhibiting excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving conflicts or patron complaints.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance while representing the festival.

Skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, prioritize tasks effectively, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong physical stamina, including the ability to remain at an assigned station, possibly sitting for extended time periods, and performing physical tasks such as moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to handle theater preparations, crowd control, and other front-of-house responsibilities efficiently.
  • Professional dress, demeanor and appearance while representing the festival.
