Description:
Join the University's Internal Audit Office as an intern and gain hands-on experience in risk-based auditing that helps strengthen University operations. You'll contribute directly to protecting institutional resources by supporting the purchasing card audit process, verifying transactions, ensuring policy compliance, and helping identify potential risks. This role offers exposure to a variety of audit types and opportunities to develop analytical and professional skills in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with audits of University purchasing cards.
- Support audit procedures for departmental and USHE-required annual audits, including areas such as Institutional Investments, Revenue Generating Activities, Discretionary Funds, and Travel.
- Conduct data analysis related to purchasing cards, travel expenditures, and departmental operations.
- Participate in special projects involving analytical and research tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Access, or other analytics platforms).
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Preferred: Completion of ACCT 2020 (Managerial Accounting) or ANLY 2500 (Introduction to Business Analytics)
