Description:

The Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate and efficient receiving of shipments for the University Campus Store. This position ensures all incoming merchandise is verified against purchase orders and properly entered into our POS system.

Must be able to start now and work through the summer.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and unpack incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
  • Verify received merchandise against packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Enter all received products into The Hello POS system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Organize and store inventory in designated areas within the receiving department and stockroom.
  • Assist with the picking, packing, and shipping of online orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area and storage spaces.
  • Support seasonal retail operations, including stocking and maintaining the seasonal Utah Shakespeare gift shop.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and inventory control procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members in other departments to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Follow all university and store policies and procedures related to safety, inventory control, and customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or retail operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy under deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and receiving software.
  • Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Customer service skills and a positive attitude.
