Description:
Under the direction of the Costume Shop Manager, TDAA Costume Shop Assistants may work in a variety of duties pertaining to the TDAA productions.
Responsibilities
- They must coordinate the care, management and organization of costumes prior to and during the dress rehearsal process.
- Create the costume wardrobe paperwork.
- Prepare dressing rooms, and organize wardrobe crew.
- Coordinate the maintenance (i.e. repairs and laundry) and assist with the costume strike.
- Further duties within the costume shop may include:
* Maintaining and styling wigs and facial hair.
* Assist in creating specialty makeup for productions.
* Build and create costume props and accessories for theatrical production.
Hours dependent on production schedule.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates experience in costume construction and maintenance
- Ability to create or learn to create a costume using a commercial pattern
- Knowledge of laundry/clothing care and clothing alterations
- Good organization and managerial skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- May have ability to style hair
- May have ability to create and maintain costume crafts
