Description:

Under the direction of the Costume Shop Manager, TDAA Costume Shop Assistants may work in a variety of duties pertaining to the TDAA productions.

Responsibilities

  • They must coordinate the care, management and organization of costumes prior to and during the dress rehearsal process.
  • Create the costume wardrobe paperwork.
  • Prepare dressing rooms, and organize wardrobe crew.
  • Coordinate the maintenance (i.e. repairs and laundry) and assist with the costume strike.
  • Further duties within the costume shop may include: * Maintaining and styling wigs and facial hair. * Assist in creating specialty makeup for productions. * Build and create costume props and accessories for theatrical production.

Hours dependent on production schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates experience in costume construction and maintenance
  • Ability to create or learn to create a costume using a commercial pattern
  • Knowledge of laundry/clothing care and clothing alterations
  • Good organization and managerial skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • May have ability to style hair
  • May have ability to create and maintain costume crafts
