Description:

The SUU Campus Store is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Merchandising Assistant to support general merchandise operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment that reflects the pride and spirit of Southern Utah University.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with stocking, organizing, and straightening merchandise across all departments, including apparel, supplies, gifts, and convenience.
  • Ensure products are properly rotated and displayed according to seasonal and promotional plans.
  • Support inventory management and prepare merchandise for sale.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of designated areas and equipment, including those in the Campus Store’s convenience section.
  • Assist with vending machine restocks and maintenance throughout campus.
  • Participate in the seasonal restocking of the Utah Shakespeare Festival Gift Shops, including potential Saturday work during summer months.
  • Support online order fulfillment and merchandise presentation for e-commerce platforms.
  • Assist with merchandising for store events, special promotions, and new product launches. Some evenings and weekends required for special events

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and initiative in completing assigned tasks.
  • General knowledge or interest in retail merchandising, apparel, or product display preferred.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Able to follow instructions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.

Preferred Skills (not required):

  • Familiarity with retail POS systems (training provided).
  • Visual merchandising or planogram experience.
  • Customer service background or interest in retail operations.
