Description:

This internship is part of the Spring 2026 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must: Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship. Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.

We are looking for a Peer Mentor Intern who can put themselves in our students' shoes and advocate/mentor them as necessary. We need someone who can be patient, empathetic, and be passionately communicative, as excellent service standards are crucial to our organization. This intern will demonstrate a dynamic, professional attitude and provide friendly, supportive services to students. They should be confident at troubleshooting and investigate solutions if they do not have enough information to resolve the problem. Tasks relating to the office and the programs we offer must be completed accurately and in a timely manner, often requiring coordinating with various individuals and organizations both on and off campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a positive role model and provide guidance, support, and encouragement to mentees.
  • Assist students in their transition by sharing knowledge, resources, and personal experiences.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes student success and engagement.
  • Facilitate regular check-ins and meetings with mentees to discuss academic, personal, and professional goals.
