Description:

This internship is part of the Spring 2026 Professional Internship Program. The ORPT Department is hiring an intern for the Spring 2026 semester. We are looking for a self starter with a desire to grow in the field of ORPT administration to help bolster their professionalism and build their resume.To be eligible for the program you must:

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:*

  • Intern may assist with course-related field trips as a driver and/or co-leader
  • Course-related planning and logistics
  • Teaching lessons
  • Grading
  • Maintaining program equipment
  • Developing administrative documents such as risk management plans and emergency action plans.

*The job will take place outdoors and on campus. Specific duties and responsibilities will be determined based on applicant experience and interest.

Qualifications:

  • ORPT major or minor preferred
  • Basic outdoor skills and knowledge (e.g. ability to spend multiple hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, ability to comfortably navigate a variety of terrain)
  • An enthusiasm for teaching and learning in the outdoors
  • SUU van driver certified or ability to take and pass the required driver training
  • Good organizational and professional communication skills
