Description:

This position will assist in the coordination of on-campus recruiting events, off-campus recruiting trips, along with the promotion and attendance of these events. Along with the above duties, the Career Services Assistant will assist the Business Career Services staff, Madalyn Swanson and Tevita Loamanu, in all aspects of daily duties. Consistent communication between Career Services Coordinator, Campus Career Center, and employers through online communications, phone calls, and in-person connections is imperative. 2 weeks paid training available, start time is within this month or next.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of the Career Services Coordinator’s schedule
  • Coordinate with recruiters, the Campus Career and Professional Development Center, the Career Services Coordinator, and the Event Planning Staff in the planning of on-campus recruiting events.
  • Assist in the management of student workshops/ career development event schedules
  • Coordinate with Career Services Coordinator and School of Business faculty to schedule class visits and tabling for employers
  • Create and publicize advertising materials to highlight recruiting events and job opportunities
  • Teach, develop, and review job search materials (resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, etc.) with students as needed by appointment
  • Actively working on LinkedIn to connect with employers, faculty, staff, students, and alumni to build relationships and increase placement for School of Business Graduates.
  • Plan, advertise, and execute professional development events
  • Be active at approving jobs on Handshake and keep track of exciting job opportunities
  • Manage Career Center on 2nd floor of Business Building- keep area clean and professional, keep resources on hand, and keep Career Center board updated
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Available to Upperclassmen (Junior or Senior) and Graduate Students.
  • Preferred majors in Business Management, Marketing, or other related majors
  • Strong organizational skills (Required).
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and leaders in professional fields (Required).
  • Excellent written and oral communication (Required).
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft suite of applications and internet-based platforms (Google suite, etc.).
  • Prior experience in graphic design (Canva is sufficient) and advertising material creation (Preferred).
  • Strong personal sense of accountability and time management.
