Description:

The Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service is now accepting applications to intern in the offices of Utah's national Legislators. Those offices include Senators Mike Lee and John Curtis as well as Representatives Blake Moore, Celeste Maloy, Mike Kennedy, and Burgess Owens. Each office has internship openings at Capitol Hill in Washington DC as well as state offices here in Utah.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing day-to-day tasks, including handling correspondence and leading Capitol building tours.
  • Conducting various research projects and assisting legislative staff by attending meetings and taking detailed notes.
  • Helping to organize and manage political events.
  • Potential for full-time employment following graduation for high-performing interns.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • National interns have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The confidence to work independently and under direction as needed
  • A strong interest in public policy
  • A helpful and willing mindset
  • Previous experience in political spaces or office settings preferred, but not required
