Description:
This position supports the Graduate & Online Enrollment Management department with lead generation and management. Successful candidate will help the department meet growth objectives by providing strategically-devised video and static content for a variety of social platforms and marketing projects that conform to established brand guidelines and produce results. These projects focus on social media content creation and management. Seeking skills in creativity, short form video creation, strong copywriting, social platform tracking and analytics, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Content Planning. Plan a content calendar for social media channels that optimizes engagement, audience growth, SEO/AEO, and department objectives. (LinkedIn, Meta, X, Tik Tok, etc.)
- Content Creation & Management. Create and publish social media content using a content management platform (Hootsuite) that executes the organic marketing strategy. Content development is broad including: images, illustrations, infographics, short form videos, copywriting, etc.
- Marketing Analytics. Monitor and report on campaign performance through analytical channels. Monitor and respond to comments and messages from posts. Use data to make suggestions for strategy pivots as needed.
- Team Collaboration. Work with members of the marketing team, including the graphic designer(s) regarding visual elements, to strategize and execute effective organic marketing projects.
- Research. Research and understand different audiences, strategy, and tactics to support effective message delivery.
Additional Duties:
- Engage in professional development opportunities to continue building a skill set to strengthen job performance and support career aspirations.
- Participate in traditional marketing activities as needed.

Working Conditions and Schedule
Must be able to work during summer semester. Student may work up to 40 hours per week during summer semester, and 20 hours per week during fall and spring semesters. Generally, this position works in an off-campus climate-controlled office setting with open office hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The office is located on Hwy 56 in Cedar City. Flexible work hours to accommodate the student’s class schedule. Student must have reliable transportation. *Remote or hybrid situations might also be an option.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills & Experience):
- Student pursuing an undergraduate degree in communications, marketing or related field
- Short form video creation skills
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to understand and follow a brand guide
- Good judgement regarding appropriate written and visual content for your audience on social media
- Knowledge of social media platforms and how they operate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with social media content creation, audience growth and engagement
- Experience with using social media content management platforms for posting and analytics
- Ability to research and understand different audiences.
- Intermediate-advanced short form video creation/editing skills
