Description:
The Student UX & Social Media Specialist supports website optimization, user experience research, and social media engagement efforts for the Graduate and Online department. This role assists with webpage audits, UX recommendations, social media scheduling and monitoring, and digital content support. The student worker will help improve the online experience for prospective and current students across web and social platforms.
Responsibilities:
User Experience / Website Support
- Review webpages and landing pages for usability and accessibility issues
- Audit pages for user experience improvements
- Test navigation, mobile responsiveness, and content clarity
- Report findings and recommendations
- Assist with SEO and content optimization reviews
- Monitor forms, CTAs, and conversion paths
- Conduct competitor and higher-ed website research
Social Media Support
- Schedule and publish social media posts
- Monitor comments/messages and flag important responses
- Assist with content planning and organization
- Track engagement and performance trends
- Identify opportunities for improving reach and student engagement
- Assist with short-form content ideas and repurposing
Administrative / Project Support
- Organize content calendars and workflow tracking
- Help maintain asset libraries
- Assist with campaign coordination
- Document findings and recommendations
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Southern Utah University student in good academic standing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with major social media platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Basic understanding of digital communication and user behavior
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable learning new digital tools and platforms
- Interest in user experience, web strategy, or digital marketing
