Description:

The SUU Career Center is seeking a Marketing & Events Intern to assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of career-related events. This position provides hands-on experience in event coordination, marketing strategy, and content creation, making it an excellent opportunity for students interested in marketing, communications, event planning, or business. Interns will gain valuable professional skills while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Marketing & Communications:

  • Manage daily content creation for social media and develop marketing campaigns for events.
  • Create simple graphics, flyers, and email templates for Career Center staff.
  • Engage with students online by responding to DMs and comments.
  • Edit reels and contribute to marketing campaigns for new students.

Event Coordination:

  • Schedule rooms for employer events and career fairs.
  • Reserve event items and place catering orders.
  • Develop and assemble employer information packets.
  • Create floor plans and manage event-day logistics.
  • Maintain inventory of fair supplies and assist with employer interviews.
  • Manage follow up reporting for Career Fairs and other Career Center events.

Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Experience with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools (Canva, Capcut, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in event planning, marketing, or student engagement is a plus.
