Description:

The Special Education Department at Southern Utah University is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated student worker to assist with data monitoring, tracking, and organization for students pursuing their Special Education Licensure under a specialized grant program.

The successful candidate will directly support faculty members and project directors, ensuring grant compliance while actively contributing to SUU’s institutional mission.

Responsibilities:

Data Monitoring & Tracking:

  • Maintain, update, and organize student files and databases for those enrolled in the Special Education Licensure program.
  • Track student progress, milestones, and grant requirements using Excel, Google Sheets, or university databases.
  • Assist in gathering data required for semesterly and annual grant reporting.

Administrative & Faculty Support:

  • Help faculty prepare materials for student advising, monitoring checks, and program audits.
  • Coordinate communication (via email or Canvas) with grant recipients regarding upcoming deadlines, required paperwork, or program updates.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA regulations.

Qualifications:

Required Qualafications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student at Southern Utah University (minimum 6 credits).
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred Qualafications:

  • Interest or major in Education, Special Education, Human Services, Data Analytics, or Business Administration.
  • Experience with data entry or administrative office work. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) or Google Workspace
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
