Description:

The Office Assistant provides essential support by handling front desk operations, customer service, and administrative tasks within the department. This role focuses on assisting students, faculty, staff, and the general public through phone, email, and in-person interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Cover front desk and phones at Facilities Management Administration Office.
  • Assist Directors, Administrative Assistant, and Assistant Vice President with special projects often done using Google Platform, Microsoft Office Suite applications and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Handle abandoned bike inventory.
  • Run campus errands.
  • Order supplies and manage supply inventory.
  • Manage central office files and filing.
  • Take campus calls and submit work orders in the work order system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Word, Photoshop, Google and Excel, preferred).
  • Must be responsible, reliable and punctual.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Should have the ability to help people solve problems over the phone.
  • Must be able to work during semester breaks and over the summer.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Preference given to those enrolled in at least 12 credit hours during fall and spring semesters.
