Description:

As the Career Center Assistant working on Handshake, you'll make the Career Center platform Handshake a better place to post, look for, and apply for jobs. Post jobs to support the career needs of our students. Approve employers to post jobs and assist them with their hiring efforts. Create systems to make Handshake efficient and user friendly for all SUU Handshake users. This position is for 15 hours a week beginning as soon as a candidate is hired and continuing through the 2026-2027 academic year and possibly beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Approve employers to post jobs and assist them with their hiring efforts.
  • Create systems to make Handshake efficient and user friendly for all SUU Handshake users.

Qualifications:

  • Must be tech savvy: Requires high proficiency with Microsoft Office and G Suite (Google Apps), and experience with navigating job search platforms.
  • Willingness to become an expert on Handshake, researching and learning best practices and uses, and communicate those to the Career Center team.
  • Listen and learn to determine best course of action.
  • Problem solving abilities and willingness to ask for help and input
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in person.
  • Proven ability to work independently and with a team.
