Description:

The Writing Fellow mentor will shadow the current Writing Fellow student director, gradually taking on some of the student director roles and becoming a student director in Spring 2027. These roles include: meeting with individual writing fellows to help them resolve challenges and concerns; creating and updating forms for the program, updating our handbooks and resources; and helping create potential content for the Writing Across the Curriculum program.

This internship is part of the Fall 2026 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

Responsibilities:

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • Provide thoughtful responses in your application

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take on increasing responsibilities over time
  • Experience with peer tutoring (especially in writing)
