Description:

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies is seeking a student employee to provide front desk support and assist with marketing initiatives, social media content, and student activities that foster campus engagement and well-being. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the department chair, graduate program director, and faculty in developing marketing materials, such as flyers, brochures, electronic publications, website and social media content.
  • Review and update website and social media
  • Provide clerical support to all INDS faculty and staff
  • Assist with organizing on-campus recruitment events, student activities, and special projects.
  • Answer phones and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner
  • Distribute mail, course flyers, departmental promotional materials, and other communications across campus.
  • Greet and assist department visitors
  • Maintain clean and organized common work areas
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies and recruitment materials
  • Perform other office duties as assigned

  • Welcoming, professional, and respectful demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills .
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines in an open office environment.
  • Detail-oriented .
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on assigned projects .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), Canvas LMS, Adobe Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and social media platforms.
  • Must complete FERPA training and TITLE IX training at the start of employment.
  • Marketing, graphic design, and photography skills are desired but not required.
  • Position has a flexible work schedule determined each semester to accommodate the student’s academic schedule and departmental needs.
