About This Scholarship

Donor Biography

David was born in Holiday in the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in 1936 and lived there for 10 years until his father bought a large dry farm in Idaho and he spent his next 7 years there working hard, raising barley and hay. June was born in Northern England, Durham County, and spent her first 5 years in an east coast steel work town on the North Sea. When the war began, Churchill ordered women and children to go inland and we spent 5 years relatively safe from the bombing . When she returned to her home town (where we had bomb damage), she joined the church and emigrated when she was 14. June went to West High , graduated and met David that summer when he came down from Idaho to attend BYU, but stayed the summer with his older brother. David was given a scholarship at Berkeley when he went back for his Masters in Public Health. He has always appreciated that help when they were almost penniless with 4 little boys and 3 years of study. June got her Nursing degree from Weber after she had 8 children. The Jeppson family believe Nursing to be a noteworthy profession for young people. They have been so blessed in so many ways that this is just one way they can show their gratitude.
