Donor Biography

Kimber and LaRae attended the campus of SUU in the 90's. Kimber graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Finance, and LaRae with a degree in Nursing (through Weber State's program at SUU). They married in 1997 and have four children. Two of their children are currently attending SUU. Since graduating, Kimber has worked in the financial industry. He is the owner of a small Registered Investment Advisory business and is a Certified Financial Planner. LaRae has primarily been a homemaker raising their four wonderful kids. She has also worked as a labor and delivery nurse, early assessment nurse and teaches classes on labor and delivery to expecting couples. She has also served for many years as the assistant Coach for the Cedar High girls cross country team. Kimber and LaRae are grateful for the educational experiences and opportunities they had on the campus of SUU and hope to assist other students by sponsoring the Heaton Financial Scholarship to upper division students pursuing a degree and career in Finance.

Scholarship Criteria

Will award $500 per semester to one student with financial need that has been recommended by Business Faculty who is enrolled as a full-time Junior or Senior majoring in Finance, who has indicated on their scholarship application that they are interested in pursuing a career in Financial Services. They must be in good academic standing and making a contribution to the campus demonstrating leadership through their involvement in campus clubs or organizations, business organizations, student government, athletics, campus committees, etc.
