Will award outstanding students in the Department of Teacher Education who have the purpose of completing degree requirements and certification in elementary or secondary education leading to a teaching position in an accredited elementary or secondary institution, and a minimum of two years teaching in that position. Candidate must first be recommended to the President of the University. Should any descendant of John Henry Dalley apply for this scholarship, it will be awarded to them automatically with no other considerations. The recipients of the scholarship will agree to complete the program of teacher education at Southern Utah University with a bachelor of science degree. Should the recipient fail to complete the requirements the funds will need to be reimbursed over a period of two years from the date they received notice of noncompliance.
