Ann Marie was nominated to the District Court bench by Governor Gary Herbert in 2000, and presides over felony criminal cases, as well as the full spectrum of civil litigation, primarily in Iron and Beaver Counties. She graduated from BYU Law School in 1997, and her practice prior to becoming a judge included service as a public defender, prosecutor, and General Counsel of SUU. She grew up in rural Southern Utah, riding horses, watering fields, and mucking out stalls at the barn.
Ann Marie and Randy started their annual needs-based scholarship at SUU when their three children were little and they began saving for their college education, feeling prompted to help other young people to pursue the same kinds of higher ed dreams they had for their own kids.
