Donor Biography

Lehi Willard Jones was born in November of 1854. Lehi was the grandson of the first President of Branch Normal School Milton Bennion. The Branch Normal School was the precursor to Southern Utah University. Lehi was married to Martha Henrietta Lunt in February of 1878 and died in 1947 at the age of 93. Lehi was the chairman of the building committee for Old Main at Branch Normal School. The structure was to be built in 1899, where they had nine months in which to build a building worthy to house a Branch of State Normal.
