Donor Biography

Garth and Jerry Fisher both attended and graduated from College of Southern Utah (what SUU was called from 1953-1969). Garth majored in Education and Jerry majored in Accounting. Garth served in the Air Force for several years and later taught exercise Physiology at BYU for 30 Years. As Fisher said, "We give for several reasons, as to honor Jerry's father who lived and worked in Cedar City, to show our appreciation for what SUU did for us, because we met at SUU, and because we struggled financially when we were young and attending school. This is opportunity to help those in the same situation."

Scholarship Criteria

Is awarded to Journalism students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
