Internship Guidelines and Agreement forms
The one (1) internship application is worth 10% of the course grade (100 points). Several applications and forms must be completed and submitted to the SUU Registrar's Office as well as on Canvas. The student must propose five internship objectives as part of the internship application. Full points will be given after all required paperwork is completed and submitted to the appropriate authorities.
Internship Description, objective or Goals Assignment and Objective Refinement and Execution Plan
These Two assignments are worth 30% of the course grade (300 points). The instructor will review the internship objectives the student proposed as part of the internship application package. The student will revise the internship objectives according to the feedback provided by the instructor and create execution plans for each objective. The internship supervisor will be involved in establishing the internship objectives. The objectives and execution plans will follow an iterative process until the instructor and the internship supervisor are satisfied with the refined objectives and execution plans. Full points will be given after the instructor is satisfied with the refined objectives and execution plans.
Final Internship Report
The final internship report is worth 30% of the course grade (500 points). The student will prepare and submit a final report of her internship experience and describe how well she accomplished the five objectives established at the beginning of the internship course. In an iterative process, the instructor may provide feedback to the student about her internship report and ask the student to revise the internship report with additional information or clarification on items presented in the final internship report. Full points will be given after the student submits an acceptable final internship report to the instructor.
Supervisor Evaluation
The Supervisor evaluation is worth 20% of the course grade (200 points). This activity is an effort to include the interns' employers in the grading process and to receive feedback about internship performance from the employers. The instructor will be sending out a feedback form to the employer. This component is a voluntary participation program for your employer. Students will be given a grade on a sliding scale based on their supervisor's assessment of their performance during the internship. If an employer opts out of this evaluation, then the student will receive a passing score for this item.
