Course Outline

Discussion Posts

You will have 4 discussion posts, one per module.  Responses are expected to be well written and professional in nature.  You will also be required to comment on another students’ post in each prompt.  Both the original discussion post and the comment must be submitted no later than the assigned due date.  These posts make up 10% of your final grade.

Module Projects

You will have 1 project per module, totaling 4 projects.  Each project will be completed in Microsoft Excel and must be submitted no later than the assigned due date.  Each project has a Walk Through Video and conditional formatting allowing you to know whether a cell has been completed correctly.  As a result, you should have a good idea of what your grade will be on the projects when you submit them.  These projects make up 50% of your final grade.

Module Exam

You will have 4 proctored Module exams.  The first exam will be worth 50 points, and the remaining 3 exams will be worth 90 points each. There are between 18 and 25 questions on the exams and you will have 90 minutes to complete them.  You may use a calculator and blank piece of scratch paper.  No other materials are allowed and you cannot work with others.  Exams must be submitted no later than the assigned due date.  These exams will make up 40% of your final grade.

Instructor's policies on late assignments and/or makeup work

Late Policy:

Late work is not accepted in this class.  While we do have strict deadlines for each task, you are welcome and encouraged to work ahead whenever possible.  This will give you flexibility as unforeseen complications arise in your schedule.

Make Up Work/Extra Credit:

Half of the grade in this class is based on the Module Projects which all have step by step Walk-Through Videos and conditional formatting that allows you to know what your grade will be prior to submission. Another 10% is earned on the Discussion Posts which are largely participation grades.  If you get full credit on those items you only need to score about 60% on average across the exams.  As a result, this course will not have any make-up or extra credit work offered.

Attendance Policy

 Attendance:

As an online course, there are not any strict attendance policies beyond keeping up with deadlines.  You are welcome to do your course work where it best fits your schedule.  That said, the student is responsible for reaching out to either myself or the instructional coach if you have questions about the material or assignments.
