Students will take four exams throughout the course.
Module 1
Students will study the elements and principles of communication.
Students will discuss what happens to love after the wedding.

Module 2
Students will study the effects of communication in social media.
Students will discuss the concept of a full love tank
Module 3
Students will study the importance of self identity, belonging, and self-disclosure .
Students will discuss the concept of falling in love.
Module 4
Students will study the organization and influences of perception, including common tendencies, perception checking, empathy, and cognitive complexity.
Students will discuss words of affirmation in relationships.
Students will have a one-on-one discussion on an opposing topic and write a reflection paper on the experience.
Module 5
Students will study the effect emotions play in communication, and how to express and manage emotions in society.
Students will discuss quality time in relationships.

Module 6
Students will study the effects of language in communication, including how it differs between genders and between cultures.
Students will discuss gift giving in relationships.
Students will write a reflection paper describing the progress of a personal goal.
Module 7
Students will study the effect of nonverbal communication in society.
Students will discuss acts of service in relationships.
Module 8
Students will study the importance of listening in communication, including the elements and challenges of listening, as well as types of responses.
Students will discuss physical touch in relationships.

Module 9
Students will study relational dynamics including models of relationships, characteristics of relationships, and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
Students will discuss how to discover their personal love language.
Module 10
Students will study close relationships among family, friends, and romantic partners.
Students will discuss the fact that love is a choice.
Module 11
Students will study confirming and disconfirming messages, defensiveness and remedies, the assertive message format, and how to respond non-defensively
to criticism.
Students will discuss how to handle differences in relationships.
Students will write a reflection paper on gratitude.
Module 12
Students will study interpersonal conflict, including conflict styles, relational systems, variables between genders and cultures, and constructive skills.
Students will discuss how to love difficult people.
