Course Requirements

Grading: Math 0990, and 0970 are now the prerequisite for Math 1010, Math 1030 and Math 1031 , 80% ( B-) grade will be needed to be able register for any one of these three classes, grades will be determined by tests, assignments, attendance and the final exam. If you receive a final grade lower than a B- in this math class and have previously registered for the next math class you will be dropped from that class. If you think you are in the wrong class you can try to test out of this class the first week by taking a Placement test. Or if you fail to get the 80% you will be able to take the placement test the week of finals to try to test into the next class. Testing center number 865-8071, e-mail ssccenter@suu.edu

Honesty Policy: Anyone not turning in their own work or looking at someone else’s test an F will be given and no chance will be given to make it up.

Testing: All tests will be done in pencil, no crossing out work, a good eraser is recommended. Showing all work is required, Partial credit will be given for work done correctly, no credit will be given for just the answer. If the work is so messy that I can’t follow the work or that I can’t find the answer, it will be marked wrong and no credit will be given. One test will be dropped and no retakes of tests. If a test is missed without good cause you will not be allowed to make the test up and it will be the test you drop.

Homework: Homework will be done in pencil, It will be submitted by 11 PM of the next day, half credit will be given for late homework no credit will be given, if turned in 48 hours after it is due. The last assignment in a chapter, no credit will be given, if turned in after 9am the day of the test. Do not turn in multiple assignments together. On the top of your homework you should have your Name and chapter & section. Do not do more than 10 problems per page or more than 3 graphing problems per page. Please do not squish your work together. Homework that is unreadable will not be graded. Not having a text is no excuse for not having the homework done on time. Do not do your homework while I am lecturing

No extra credit is available.

Calculator: Calculators allowed on test. Cell phone are not.

Instructor's policies on late assignments and/or makeup work

One test will be dropped and no retakes of tests. If a test is missed without good cause you will not be allowed to make the test up and it will be the test you drop.

If you are missing a test for medical reasons, or a personal reason, contact me before the test, if that is not possible. then at the earliest opportunity afterwards. If I have not been contacted a Zero will be given.

Homework will be done in pencil, It will be submitted by 11 PM of the next day, half credit will be given for late homework no credit will be given, if turned in 48 hours after it is due. The last assignment in a chapter, no credit will be given, if turned in after 9am the day of the test.

Attendance Policy

80% Attendance is required to pass this class. By December 5th, 2025
