Homework

There will be new homework assignments given for each lesson. Daily homework will be completed online through XYZ. Each lesson has a corresponding assignment that has already been created and scheduled online. Pay close attention to each individual due date throughout the semester as they are subject to change. No late submissions will be accepted for ANY reason. However, XYZ will allow 10 homework latepasses throughout the semester. A latepass must requested before the assignment due date to be granted. Please use these "Freebies" for times you simply cannot get your homework completed on time or for emergencies. Your total homework score for each chapter will be calculated and added to your canvas grade after each exam. All XYZ homework will account for 10% of your overall grade. You will be required to maintain a math homework journal throughout the semester where you work through the online homework problems and keep notes from class. It must be neat and organized with the lesson topic listed and problems numbered. In addition to regular daily HW assignments, for each main topic that we cover, there will be an additional in class practice worksheets that will help you focus on the main concepts and content needed for that chapter exam. These assignments will be handed out in class and will be due on a specified day during that chapter. No in class assignment scores will be dropped from your grade. Collectively, they are worth 10% of your overall grade and may not be made up or turned in late for any reason, unless approved by the instructor.

Chapter Exams

There will be 5 Chapter Exams and a Comprehensive Final Exam. Each chapter exam with count for 10% of your overall grade totalling 50% of your overall percentage. All exams will be administered in the testing center on the SUU campus (ELC second floor) with a remote option for sick or high risk students only through Proctorio. You will have a minumum of two full days to go to the testing center sometime that works for your schedule and take the exam. We will have no class on one of those days to allow you necessary time to take the exam. In the testing center, you will have as much time as you need to finish the exam. Do Not miss test days!!!! There will be NO LATE tests given for any reason. If you will be unable to take the test on the specified test day, it is YOUR responsibility to let me know and make arrangements to complete the test EARLY. If there is a problem on a test day that was COMPLETELY AND UNBELIEVABLY unavoidable, please contact me as soon as possible to discuss other options to recieve points for the test. Failure to take even one of these Chapter Exams may result in a UW course grade.
