1. Students will discuss the impact of interdependent traits such as emotional balance, self-awareness, integrity, self-esteem, physical fitness, and healthy spirituality on behavior at work and in personal life.
2. Students will explore the elements of resilience, burnout, traumatic stress, substance use disorders and compassion fatigue and the effects on workers in the field.
3. Students will be able to explain how work-related stress can compromise physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being and define the strategies used to combat the negative repercussions of stress.
4. Students will develop mindfulness and self-relaxation strategies to modify mindsets, reframe events, and core beliefs to recover from setbacks and adversity by promoting mind-body awareness and equanimity.
5. Students will Identify skills to build meaningful relationships and positive support systems to improve health and well-being by enhancing resilience including identifying and setting boundaries.
6. Students will explain ways to improve health-conscious practices, including healthy eating, exercise, sleep, interpersonal communication, and self-compassion.
7. Students will utilize key psychological and emotional resiliency skills to address symptoms associated with traumatic stress and compassion fatigue.
8. Students will analyze structural factors within organizations that support resilience and analyze important elements for strengthening positive connections leading to success in the workplace.
9. Students will develop a six-point professional resiliency plan to guide their future journey into health and wellness, personal life, professional development, and employment.
