Due Dates
Assignments are due on Sundays at 11:59 PM.
You are always welcomed and encouraged to work ahead of schedule. A due date is a deadline, not a schedule of when to do the work. This habit will a) help you receive early feedback that you can apply to later assignments and b) create some "breathing room" to help you manage assignments in your other classes at busy points in the semester.
I missed a due date -- what do I do next?
I missed a due date -- what do I do next?
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way or that you sometimes make strategic decisions to prioritize other responsibilities, so: LATE WORK is accepted through Canvas for 80% credit up to the "Available Until" date.
Check the "Available Until" date on any Canvas assignment to confirm the late submission window.
If you miss a due date due to an extenuating or emergency situation, please communicate with me as soon as you are able, but not later than 2 business days after the due date. We can discuss your particular situation. (The conversation works best if you propose an adjusted due date and explain your thinking.)
Appropriate exceptions for extended time or flexible due dates will be made for students who have accommodations approved through the Disability Resource Center Links to an external site..
If you are not sure if you might qualify for accommodations but had an IEP or accommodations in high school, we enthusiastically encourage you to connect with the Disability Resource Center to explore your options to support how you learn best.
Instructor Responsibilities
Feedback is an important part of learning. Reviewing Canvas assignment grades and comments from your instructor is a great way to get feedback. However, please feel free to reach out if you desire additional feedback or have questions.
Not sure how to find assignment comments from your instructor? Check out this tutorial Links to an external site..
It is my intention to:
- Respond to student messages within 2 business day.
- Provide grades and feedback within 7 days from the submitted date.
All course materials (readings, links, handouts, etc.) will be carefully chosen, have a research basis, and be provided through Canvas. We've got you!
