1. Major Writing Assignments (80% total)
Students must complete all major essays and associated drafts:
- Personal Narrative – 10%
- Rhetorical Analysis – 15%
- Argument Essay – 20%
- Annotated Bibliography – 5%
- Research Paper – 25%

2. Drafts, Peer Review & Workshops (10%)
Students must submit all drafts on time and complete peer reviews.

3. In‑Class Writing & Journals (10%)
Weekly short writing activities, reflections, and practice exercises.

5. Attendance Requirement
- Up to 4 absences allowed without penalty.
- More than 8 absences (excused or unexcused) results in automatic failure.

6. Required Writing Center Visits
Four Writing Center visits are required and tied to major assignments:
- Visit #1 — Sept 18
- Visit #2 — Oct 7
- Visit #3 — Oct 23
- Visit #4 — Nov 20

7. Final Portfolio
Includes:
- Revised work
- Final reflection
- Presentation
- In‑class journals
Due Dec 10–11 depending on component.

8. Technology & Materials
Students must have:
- Reliable internet
- Access to Google Docs or Microsoft Word
- Ability to use Canvas
- All readings provided digitally (no textbook purchase required)

9. Academic Honesty
Strict plagiarism and AI‑misuse policy:

10. Late Work Policy
- 24‑hour grace period for major assignments with prior notice.
- After that: 10% deduction per day, up to 50%.
- Drafts cannot be late.
- Daily work generally not accepted late.
