Instructor's policies on late assignments and/or makeup work

Online classes provide unique challenges for interaction. For messages sent to me, I will respond in the specified amount of time. Because feedback is an important part of the learning process, please look for feedback on your assignments that I provided in the specified amount of time.

It is my goal to:

  • Respond to student messages within 1 business day
  • Provide grades and feedback within 1 week from the due date

Assignment Resubmissions

For each assignment, you will have the opportunity to re-submit to make up for points you may have missed. I believe that this class should reflect "real world situations" as much as possible. Therefore, it makes sense that you have an opportunity to learn from any mistakes you may have made and make the appropriate revisions, if you'd like to do so. You will have one month from the date that I grade the original assignment to re-submit.

Late Assignments

Late assignments will be accepted up to 1 week late with a 10% deduction in points earned. If you have yet to submit an assignment a week after its due date, please contact me directly to discuss your options.

Online Work in Canvas

See the MODULES tab (left side of the course homepage) in our Canvas course for details about
assignments. All assignments must be submitted via Canvas and can be completed asynchronously and online, according to the deadlines set in Canvas.

Withdrawal from Class

Any student who fails to withdraw by the allotted deadlines listed in the official SUU Academic Calendar and has not participated in discussions and/or submitted assignments will receive either an "F" or “UW” (Unofficial Withdrawal) grade for the course. The instructor will not award "I" grades to non-participating students. Withdrawing from the course and other matters of registration for and/or dropping the class is the student's responsibility.

Academic Freedom in the realm of teaching is fundamental for the protection of the rights of the faculty member and of you, the student, with respect to the free pursuit of learning and discovery. These parameters related to Academic Freedom are included in SUU Policy 6.6.
