TESTS (60%)
Due to the nature of the course and how it is developed, a comprehensive nature will be present for all examinations. Tests will be multiple choice questions and short answer questions directly from the review questions designed for demonstration of recall and understanding of concepts.
How will these be assessed?
Tests are scored as a percentage of correct answers given. Partial credit is given for partially correct answers using the built-in Canvas calculation method. Questions are randomly selected from question banks with an equal number of questions for each student for a given section. Short answer test questions will be assessed according to the criteria below and examples of each level of response will be discussed in class for each chapter. One of the first two semester tests may be retaken within one week of reviewing the completed test in addition to creating a plan for improvement. When a test is retaken, the average score of the two tests will be counted.
Each short answer question score = 1-5; 5 = Complete Understanding With Example; 3 = Some Idea; 1 = Failure to Understand Concept; 0 = No Relevant Answer
